Privacy

This is a personal portfolio and blog. It collects very little, and none of it is sold or shared with third parties beyond the processors listed below.

The site uses Umami, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics tool, to understand aggregate traffic — page views, referrers, and rough geography. Umami does not use tracking cookies and does not build cross-site profiles of visitors.

Live visitor presence

The homepage shows a live count of other people currently browsing the site, powered by Ably. To place a visitor as an approximate dot on the map, the server reads coarse, IP-derived location headers (city-level latitude/longitude) provided by the hosting edge network — no precise location, device fingerprint, or personal identifier is requested or stored. Each visitor is assigned a random, session-scoped client ID that is discarded when they leave; it is not tied to an account or stored after the session ends.

Contact data

If you email me or book a call via Cal.com, I use whatever you send only to reply to you. I don't add contacts to a mailing list without asking first.

Cookies

This site does not set advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Theme preference (light/dark/color settings) is stored locally in your browser via localStorage, not as a cookie, and never leaves your device.

Third-party links

Project links, blog posts, and the resources page link out to external sites (GitHub, npm, other blogs, tools). Once you leave akshara.dev, that destination's own privacy policy applies.
